Meeting Date: Jan. 12, 2015 Board Chair Tom Heidemann Vice Chair Marci Anderson Treasurer Bill Harvey ACTION of the School School District Board Anoka-Hennepin Organization The School Board unanimously elected Tom Heidemann to serve as chair, Marci Anderson as vice chair, Jeff Simon as clerk and Bill Harvey as treasurer. The School Board then set meeting dates from January 2015 through July of 2016. The 2015 dates are: Jan. 12, Jan. 26, Feb. 23, March 16, April 27, May 11, May 26, June 22, July 13, Aug. 24, Sept. 28, Oct. 26, Nov. 23, and Dec. 14. The 2015 dates are: Jan. 11, Jan. 25, Feb. 22, March 28, April 25, May 9, May 23, June 27; and July 11. The School Board also holds work sessions in most months when only one meeting is scheduled. Though open to the public, public testimony is not taken at work sessions. Dates for work sessions can be found at: www.anoka.k12.mn.us/sbmeetingdates. The board designated the district’s official depositories and official investment financial institutions and assigned the district’s legal newspapers. The board also delegated various staff with authority for electronic fund transfers, and gave Superintendent David Law and Chief Financial Officer Michelle Vargas authorization to sign contracts. They also set board members’ compensation at $1,300 per month for the chair and $1,200 a month for other members, which is unchanged from last year. Communications, delegations and petitions Andover parent Shawn Sovre requested that robotics be considered for School Board funding. He said robotics, which is sponsored by the Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL), is currently funded with donations.
