For information only: long-term substitute teachers, letter of agreement staff The board reviewed a listing of long-term substitute teachers and employees with letters of agreement which are selfterminating contracts. Resolution to rescind the inclusion of certain teachers’ names in resolution terminating probationary teachers The School Board reviewed terms and conditions of the resolution and approved the resolution on a unanimous vote. Elementary and secondary education Potential Non-Transported Areas, first reading Greg Cole, chief operations officer, presented Keith Paulson, director of transportation, who detailed a draft of student transportation changes for the 2020-21 school year. Anoka-Hennepin staff reviews transported areas annually to ensure services are being provided in alignment with School Board policy. Paulson shared detailed maps and a communication plan with impacted families and ways to collect feedback prior to a final recommendation at a future meeting. Child Nutrition Program - Price Increase Greg Cole, chief operations officer, and Noah Atlas, director of the Child Nutrition program, outlined program costs that lead to a recommendation to increase the price of student meals by 5 cents per meal for the 2020-21 school year. Even with the proposed increase, Anoka-Hennepin would remain at or below the price of surrounding districts. The School Board will consider approval at a future meeting. MN State High School League (MSHSL) Resolution for Membership David Law, superintendent, presented a resolution for membership in the Minnesota State High School League, an action which is considered a routine annual action for the School Board. It was approved on a unanimous vote. Finance Fiscal Year 21 Proposed Budget Michelle Vargas, chief financial officer, provided the proposed 2020-21 budget, a detailed report on revenue and expenditures and factors that influence them for next school year. The presentation included budgeting for the general fund, food service, community service, capital projects, debt service, and trust funds. The School Board will consider approval of the budget at their June 22 meeting. General Counsel Approval of contract for Anoka-Hennepin paraeducators association Paul Cady, general counsel, presented a two-year contract with the Anoka-Hennepin paraeducators association that was within budget parameters and approved by the School Board on a unanimous vote.
