Community and government relations Upgrade of voting equipment Al Ickler, executive director of community and government relations, provided an overview of a request from Anoka County Elections, the entity that coordinates elections for Anoka-Hennepin schools. A planned upgrade of voting equipment will improve accessibility and voting procedures for voters in compliance with state statutes. A joint powers agreement between Anoka County and Anoka-Hennepin schools stipulates a cost sharing formula for equipment upgrades which will be honored through providing this necessary upgrade.  Operations Blaine High School addition and remodel phase two - bid 20019B Greg Cole, chief operations officer, and Tiffany Audette, CPPB, manager of purchasing, submitted results of seven bids collected and recommended approval of bid to Jorgenson Construction at a total cost of $16,050,000. The bid was approved by the School Board on a unanimous vote. Labor relations and benefits Group medical and pharmacy third party administrative services decision Todd Mensink, director of labor relations and benefits, provided an overview of a competitive review process for medical and pharmacy administrative services in compliance with state law. The School Board reviewed options and approved a two-year plan with Medica on a unanimous vote. Elementary and secondary education Parent/guardian survey of distance learning Dr. Johnna Rohmer-Hirt, director of research, evaluation and testing, provided results of feedback collected through surveys of parents/guardians regarding distance learning. Rohmer-Hirt presented data that measured satisfaction with communication from the school and district level, amount of school work provided for students,  technology distribution, and the availability of the student meal program. Similar surveys will be presented to secondary students and teachers. Anoka-Hennepin values data and feedback as essential to improving service delivery. General counsel Resolution to approve discharge of continuing contract teachers Paul Cady, general counsel, presented a resolution to approve a discharge of a continuing contract teacher which was approved on a unanimous vote by the School Board.
