The Romanian

In the context of the Erasmus+ Action! Festival, we got the chance to go to Romania for a week from may 17th to may 23rd. We went to Braila, a city located in the South-East of Romania, in the Liceul Teorica Nicolae Iorga where we worked and shared a week alongside Turkish, Polish, Spanish and of course, Romanian fellow students. Through cinema, we bonded during this time abroad, by participating in different workshops and activities, such as learning about film composition by creating a short movie, seeing various productions from other countries, and taking part in a wonderful award ceremony celebrating our works during this project. This ceremony took place in Maria Filopetti Theatre, a huge and wonderful place in the city of Braila.

It was a really mesmerizing experience to be around such brilliant foreign young adults and sharing this time with them in a place that was so vivid. It gave us the opportunity to perfect our English practice, and technical skills considering film making. We also can say that we made really good friends out of all the people involved in this festival and will forever remember the faces we encountered. We got the chance to discover another culture by immersing completely in a local family. We tasted foreign food, drank traditional beverages, sang folk hymns and danced immemorial moves.

In conclusion, we can say that this experience was absolutely fabulous and it has been the starting point of many more Erasmus+ exposures we would like to take part in, in the future. This also opened our eyes to how many opportunities we could have in the film industry, and how much we would actually like to succeed in it.
