REVIEWSREVIEWSREVIE

Mustang is a drama about five orphan girls and their conservative family. They live with their grandmother and uncle who can't stand the behavior of the girls. It is inappropriate for them and because of that they must be reeducated to be some good wives. They even force them to marry, which will not be without consequences.

In this movie, there is an paradox : the girls are still in their childhood but they are forced to become woman.

We love the poetic atmosphere of the movie, it's tragic but still beautiful because in each moment of drama, like the violent scene at the beginning, there is a shot of joy just after. There is always light in dark moment.

We loved Lale's attitude, the main character, and the idea of the film because she's fighting with the people who are trying to control her life because of the old traditions. She fights for her liberty and her independence, and she is a symbol for Turkish women, but she also can be an example for all women.

The scene were a bit long and repetitive probably to intensify the idea, but for some people it could be a little boring. But it's a really good movie. We liked it very much, because we are feminist and we believe in women's rights and equal rights, and this film shows that it is possible, even if you have to break the rules.
