TE DOY MIS OJOS
The Doy Mis Ojos, the third feature film of Iciar Bollain, a director of Wave Guerlain of new Spanish cinema; Besides having great attention in its own country it has also taken great attention of more than 25 countries all over the world. The film, which has taken many awards from the festivals, participated in. It has beeen appreciated by many people.
The film has managed to draw attention to the issue of violence in family matters with a very realistic and sensitive way. The movie has succeded to reflect the woman’s fears, the weakness that the man tried to suppress, the power that he had revealed, and the lack of communication with a fairly realistic way to the audience.
Pilar is experiencing both emotional and physical violence from her husband Antonio. In spite of all these problems she never shares them with anybody else from her immediate environment. Antonio can not prevent his anger attacks and he has very often flown into a rage. As a result of this he loses himself and tortures his wife physically and emotionally. Pilar, who had been injured many times in these anger attacks; After abused by her husband one night Pilar takes her son and runs away from her home and head for her sister’s house.
There is no doubt that her husband will search for her. Because Pilar is all about her husband, she gives her eyes... Antonio does everything that he could do to bring back her wife and son. He meets her at work, he gets flowers, he even participates in anger management lessons to cope with his anger. But as her husband tries to approach her, she walks away. In this movie Pilar writes again the story of a marriage which has nothing gone right.
