General Description
ACTION! is an Erasmus+ project cofunded by the European Union.
It results from a partership between five schools in France, Poland, Spain, Romania and Turkey.
The goal of the whole project and the outputs such as the creation
of a gallery of short films and webmagazines, is to encourage students and teachers to learn
more about European cultures and to discover what Europeans have in common and what they can share and learn from one another.
The focus of this project, that is intercultural dialogue, aims to equip individuals with the knowledge and skills - so-called intercultural competences - to participate in increasingly diverse societies. Knowledge about other cultures contributes to mutual respect, understanding and dialogue as much as knowledge of democratic values, citizenship and civil rights.
This project is based on
an action-oriented approach
which encourages learners of English to be active and to perform concrete and complex tasks that
not only require the use of language skills but also of practical ones (organisational, actional and communicational ).
ABOUT ACTION!
This project offers the opportunity to implement project-based teaching in order to give meaning to learning at school.
It offers a motivating and inclusive approach that helps students develop transversal and transferable skills and encourage them to use extracurricular skills to face more academic challenges.
The objectives of this project also match with the key competences defined by the
European Union as essential skills and
attitudes for young Europeans to succeed not only in today's economy and
modern society but also in their personal lives.
Last but not least, some of the objectives rely on the transnational dimension of the project, such as the ability to speak foreign languages, cultural awareness and intercultural dialogue.
