“Warsaw 44” is a movie made by Jan Komasa in 2014. It’s a war drama set in the realities of Poland, in Warsaw (capital of Poland) during World War II. The main hero is Stefan who, with the help of his friend Kamy, is in the ranks of the underground army of the Polish Underground where conspiracy wants to find him a job that will help him with his younger brother and sick mother. Unfortunately he is involved in the organization of upcoming events. Also, he meets Alice who he falls in love with. Together they have to face the upcoming hell. At this point it is worth mentioning the soundtrack of the film.

An interesting feature was applied consisting in mixing works from the epoch with contemporary music. I was very surprised when I first watched a movie about this topic with dubstep in it.

To summarize the film “Warsaw 44”, this is a story about young people who reached adulthood in the cruel reality of the German occupation. They are full of life, passionate and live as each day may be the last one. It’s hard to have this attitude towards life when you’re faced with death threats at every step.

I really liked this movie and I was very surprised by the mixture of tradition and modernity. I hope I convinced you to watch this movie because it’s worth seeing it.
