Action Figure Resource Magazine June 2014 | Page 3

Editorial Welcome to the new AFR Magazine. As you can see I’ve given the magazine a complete overhaul to bring YOU a fresher, cleaner more modern and professional looking publication! A lot of time, effort and expense has gone into producing this so I hope you like it and please let me know your thoughts on what changes or additions YOU would like to see here. However, due to the increased expense in producing this there will be a cover charge of $4.99 per issue, but the magazine will go from being issued bi-monthly to monthly and for the next three months you will continue to receive it FREE! The magazine will also be available in the Apple Newsstand store, Googleplay, Kindle and downloadable from the site, all for one inclusive price. In this month’s issue we take a close look at Lego mini-figures, which I must admit I found to be an absolutely fascinating topic and after watching the video I had to force myself not to go to eBay immediately to take a look at what was available and the prices! Like the reviewer in the article up to now I have with held the temptation to get involved in these but it seems that I may just have to now, in fact I’ve just ordered the Lego mini-figures Year by Year: A Visual History from Amazon to do a little more research! There’s also an interview with Re-Action Figures Toy Designer Brian Flynn, who was partly responsible for bringing us the long lost Kenner line of Alien Action figures, among others. The review section looks at a couple of the Game of Thrones figures, the Top Toys new 1966 Batman and Robin 1/6 scale action figures, the Avengers Bruce Banner, Power Lords and more. And last…but not least is a listing of all the upcoming new releases and a schedule of all the major Comic Cons and events going on over the next few months.
