On my horse journey, I have met wonderful, loving, kind and supportive people including the owners and boarders at the Star D Farm, Harmony, New Jersey where my “knights in shining amour” reside. Each and every one of them has been supportive, helpful, and fun to be around and have played an enormous role in my recovery. I feel strongly that my horse journey has now only just begun after my first empowering ACTHA weekend. I came home and signed up for 3 more weekends of fun, fellowship and love.

My horses have healed my emotional scars and ACTHA has given me the opportunity and courage to leave the farm and continue on my equestrian journey with my “knights”.

I share my story of PTSD, depression, anxiety and struggle with alcoholism in hopes that I can make the difference in another person’s life. No matter what your life struggle is, there is hope; don't give up until the miracle happens. With much gratitude to God, my horses, husband, son, and the people along my journey who believed in me; thank you. With love and encouragement; I can only offer a helping hand.

Since initially sharing her story with us Lois is happy to report that Eli has been started under saddle and doing marvelous. In addition, she has adopted another mustang from the BLM, a one year old filly named Cecilia Dawn, from the Sulpher HMA in Utah.

Lois Dawn Fritz resides in rural Warren County, NJ; she can be reached at [email protected]
