Kay

Carmody

RIDE HOST SPOTLIGHT

Kay Carmody of the J Bar K Ranch in Hartman, Arkansas, has enjoyed her role as an ACTHA Ride Host for the past several years. Kay's ranch boasts all the comforts ACTHA riders could hope to enjoy, whether staying for the day or a long weekend. The well manicured, scenic trails meander through Ozark forests, pass rocky outcroppings and tranquil mountain springs. The creek provides swimming for both horse and human, as well as a favorite CTC obstacle.

The ranch is a fully equipped horse and cattle operation. ACTHA riders spending time at the J Bar K may take advantage of RV hookups, camping, bunk house accommodations or one of the ranch's two cabins. Many non-riding family members enjoy fishing in the large pond near the cabins during their stay, enjoying having a relaxing activity while other family members are on the trail. Accommodations for the horses are equally comfortable with outdoor panel stalls, or posh indoor stalls in the ranch's massive barn.

Kay's rides will often include a 6 mile trail competition (CTC) as well as an arena competition (AOC) in the ranch's spacious indoor riding arena. With as much Southern Hospitality as one might come to expect from an Arkansas local, all who attend Kay's rides are treated

with all the warmth, welcome

and attention of family.
