BECOME AN ACTHA

RIDE HOST >

I couldn’t resist a trip to visit their newly opened ranch a year ago last spring. I found Brandy and David to be most delightful hosts. They cater to their patrons from first arrival to that last farewell, assisting with every need. They are so friendly and take time to visit and get to know all of us who come to enjoy the ranch. When I heard of them hosting ACTHA events I shared with Brandy how great I felt the organization is and that I had been judging for ACTHA in some other areas. Brandy enlisted me to judge her events which I happily accepted.

The variety of trails at Von Holten Ranch include hills, wooded areas, water crossings and open fields lending itself to be a perfect place for ACTHA events. Brandy puts a lot of thought into the obstacles she creates and personally tests them for each level of participation to create a fair platform for the entire competition. Brandy has been able to involve local shops and artisans to help furnish the amazing prizes for each competition. Her ability to keep the competitions well organized keeps the day flowing seamlessly.

Because of Brandy’s desire to learn and improve her own horsemanship and to help other horse owners do the same, she also plans training weekends, bringing in a variety of experts and clinicians. The obstacle course is constantly growing and changing. More and more trails appear.

I’ve started meeting old friends and making new ones during my visits to Von Holten Ranch throughout this past year. Having such a place within a couple of hours of home is truly a gift. Places like Von Holten Ranch and the special people who operate them bring horse enjoyment to a whole new level. A place to meet, make friends, camp, visit and enjoy our like interest in horses, now that’s pretty special! Brandy and David Von Holten, thank you!
