Lisa Marie and Navarre
on the trail. Competing locally and a little abroad we worked on building our skills and honing our craft. By season's end we had proudly won the Nevada State Reserve Championship and finished just out of the Top Ten in the National Rankings. This was very exciting!
"I found what I've been looking for in ACTHA."
This 2014-2015 season I was bumped up to the Open Division. Yikes! At first we didn't place well, or not at all. It was much more challenging for us. Not only were the obstacles more technical but speed was added. Having to canter or trot is not as easy as walking through obstacles. At this level you must have crystal clear communication and there is less room for error. Obstacle strategy and precise movements are required to compete and WIN. Navarre and I have Won and Lost competitions by one point.
This season we have upped our game by starting to travel to new areas in California and Arizona. That change has been challenging too. But the more we do it, the better we get. As the end of the most recent season quickly
approached, we
were in a great
position to win
the Nevada State
Championship
Open Division,
how exciting
when we did!
It couldn't
have been a
better season.
We've come so far
and learned so much.
My relationship with
Navarre is better than
ever as we continue on
our journey together.
