What is new in TETRA for 2015?

Look for restrooms to be added to Reynolds Creek Equestrian pavilion and covers for several horse pens at the Mineola Nature Preserve. We are working with Texas Parks and Wildlife to help open a new trail facility at Palo Pinto Mountain State Park, and we are hosting 4 ACTHA Competitive trail rides before June 1!

The new Palo Pinto Mountains State Park in Strawn, Texas will be a 4500 acre park, located midway between Fort Worth an Abilene, is four miles north of I-20 west of Strawn on Texas Hwy 16. Centerpiece of the facility will be the 90-acreTucker Lake, whose scenic valley will be the primary camping area, with cabins, shelters, tent sites, and the primary full-service RV parking area. Non-motorized craft will be allowed on the lake, with convenient docks and fishing piers for park users. An equestrian area will accommodate fifty truck/trailer units with water and electricity, pens, located near trailheads accessing more than twenty-five miles of trails revealing the distinct scenic beauty of the Western Cross Timbers area.

Instead of applying for a grant for improvements at the Mineola Nature Preserve, we applied to be a ride host with ACTHA. TETRA’s Region 5 was the first region to host an ACTHA ride and the proceeds are donated to the Nature Preserve for improvements at the equestrian camp
