with the herd that this was my horse. The look in his eyes just spoke to me and after talking to the owner, watching him and then riding him, I took him home. A beautiful Spotted Saddle Horse named Huey. While we have encountered problems along our journey, from our mutual nervousness, to foot problems and trust issues, I know from looking back at our first meeting I made the right choice. We both needed each other, and even on the worst day just hanging out with him will put a smile on my face. Currently, Huey and I ride on the trail with my mom and Mariah but we would definitely be open to learning some new things.”
Stacy’s introduction to ACTHA began a couple of years ago when she started judging events for her mom at Little Trail Horse Camp, a job she says “I enjoyed tremendously and learned a lot. I think that is one of the best things I like about ACTHA, you can always learn something new.” Because Little Trails Horse Camp is open seasonally Stacy also had a job as a bridal manager. She quit that job and was looking for a work from home situation when advice from Mom perked her interest. Debbie was looking to slow down and spend more time doing things with her husband. She suggested to Stacy that she begin hosting ACTHA rides, after all they had the facility. Little
Ride Host Spotlight
did she know, that would open the door to some life changing events! Becoming an ACTHA ride host would allow Stacy to spend more time with her horse, her mom and eventually allow for a move back to the farm where they will soon break
Stacy started off by hosting three CTC’s. She liked what she was doing and liked the changes happening in ACTHA, which led her to seek a bigger challenge. This led her to trail boss Natalie Revels who suggested a treasure chest series. Stacy said “I had the time and I wanted something big. That something big turned out to be a greater involvement in ACTHA, and it has helped guide me in many ways.” The “Pirate Booty Series” is Stacy’s first series, and biggest endeavor to date. To say e
