JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION: Look Good…Feel Better Volunteer Cosmetologist
TERM OF SERVICE: One-Year Commitment
POSITION SUMMARY:
Certified, state licensed volunteer cosmetologist that provides a workshop which includes a 12-step skin care and makeup program; instruction on options relating to hair loss, including wigs, turbans and scarves; and nail care.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Completes Look Good…Feel better certification training.
Commit to volunteering a certain number of hours each month/quarter/year (depending upon local program
activity) for LGFB group and/or one-on-one programs.
Participate as part of a LGFB volunteer team to support local LGFB programs.
Abide by the LGFB guiding principles and program format.
Complete a two-hour Update class annually, conducted by the Area Trainer. (Recognition Awards can be included
during this time).
Develop strong working relationship with American Cancer Society Patient Service Manager and LGFB Volunteer
Unit Coordinator.
Track program participation and forward to Patient Service Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be a licensed cosmetologist or aesthician in his/her state.
Exhibit professional demeanor and leadership qualities.
Demonstrated teaching and/or public speaking skills.
Sensitive to the cancer experience and demonstrates diplomacy and compassion.
