The American College of Sofia integrates the values
and best practices of American pedagogy with the
rich educational traditions of Bulgaria and Europe. We
seek to develop critical thinking, lifelong intellectual
curiosity, leadership, and collaboration among
multi-talented students of various social, cultural,
economic, and geographical backgrounds.
The American College of Sofia (ACS) provides an
outstanding private education for 872 Bulgarian and
international students. Accredited by the Bulgarian
Ministry of Education, the Middle States Association
of Colleges and Schools, and IBO, ACS offers a
rigorous academic program and an impressive
variety of extra-curricular activities.
ACS is operated and funded by Sofia American
Schools, Inc. (SAS), a non-profit, educational
corporation chartered in 1926 in the United States by
the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
