ACOMS Aims High with Con nuing Educa on
As an organiza on with the mission to enhance surgical excellence through educa on, our
commi ees and board contemplate and deliberate how we can achieve this lo y goal. One idea that
was conceptualized and approved at the January 2015 ACOMS Strategic Planning Mee ng was to
enhance educa on and life‐long learning through the crea on of a new posi on to coordinate
educa onal product delivery and development. Due diligence ensued resul ng in ACOMS contrac ng
with a professional experienced in all aspects of healthcare educa on including educa onal planning,
design, implementa on, and evalua on.
We are excited to announce that Kris n J. Fludder, a con nuing medical educa on professional with
more than 20 years of experience in the planning, development, and implementa on of live and
enduring CME/CE ac vi es, has been contracted to help us advance our educa onal offerings. Kris n
has a wealth of experience with grant proposal development, developing online educa on, ACCME
and ACPE (Pharmacy) standards, and many more skills and abili es that we judge to be essen al to
help ACOMS meet the learning needs of our members and others in the OMS community.
We will keep members of the College apprised of the developments in our educa onal por olio and
we encourage you to respond when Kris n and the ACOMS staff contact you as part of a
comprehensive needs assessment inventory – an essen al first step in the development of educa on
crucial for successful oral and maxillofacial surgeons.
