one of the things that sets her apart as an artist . Her works ’ vibrancy is a defining trait of her style ; it adds life to her landscapes and evokes the feelings of expansiveness , turbulence , serenity and oneness with nature that one only finds when staring down an epic vista . Spectrums of color both vivid and subtle are the way she visualizes her thoughts and experience and the way she pours her heart and life onto the canvas .
“ What ’ s going on in my life is reflected through my painting . I use it in a way to connect to the universe .” Allison ’ s representations of her subjects are often impressionistic and slightly abstract in nature , rendered in bold and confident strokes . She cleverly cultivates a consistent , unique , and open-hearted style by combining her aggressive and broad strokes with careful detail and well – plotted composition to create pieces that are cohesive but striking and emotive .
The most notable collections in her portfolio have to be her sculpted relief paintings and murals . These sculpture paintings often come to her in more muted tones , with more of a realism element than her typical acrylic works , as she transforms her colorful expression into a three dimensional and textural view of her subjects . This form of her art is also inspired by a deceased loved one . A close friend of Allison ’ s worked as a drywall installer , and soon after his death , she learned of another artist who worked with drywall materials as a medium to create large scenic sculptures . Curious and excited , she ended up picking up the technique and refining it into her own style . Experimenting with this material and her first drywall relief made her feel closer to her friend , and helped her gain much closure in her period of grief for him . Over time , she has further refined her work , and now her sculpted relief art pieces no longer only bring her peace , they bring authentic joy and experiences of the natural world to anyone who sees one .
