Message from the Editor
T
he Computer Engineering Department of the
Faculty of Engineering, University of Peradeniya
is one of the very few departments on the island
that produces engineers fully equipped with theoretical
knowledge and practical applications in computer science
integrated with electrical engineering supported by a strong
mathematical background. The Association of Computer
Engineering Students (ACES) is proud to announce that the
current undergraduates, as well as the proud alumni of the
department, have exhibited their creativity and the ability to
excel in the field on both national and international levels.
To improve the quality of the department, and with the
intention of making our country competent enough to create
the next technological revolution, ACES is organizing many
events annually. This newsletter will be a reflection of the
standards of the department and the accomplishments of
ACES during recent years.
This newsletter, which is the result of the collective effort
of ACES is issued to provide an insight into the activities and
events of the Department of Computer Engineering, which
has come a long way since its humble beginnings in 1985.
