The Brooklawn Buzz May/June 2016 Edition except on Mondays. On Mondays we have science first period, then special. All of the specials include Music, Art, Library, Computers, Spanish, and Health. After special you have Science. In Science you can do labs, projects, and Jeopardy. Next we have Math with Mrs. Frey. In Math class we take notes, we Mathercise, we make factor trees, and lots more. Then we have one more period till lunch, it’s Reading. In Reading we have to read 5 books. Also we have 4 book reports, and sometimes we work in daybooks/ Sourcebooks. This is our Morning schedule. During lunch many different things happen, either you’re the one eating or you’re the one playing. There are 2 halves in lunch. First half, kindergarten- 3rd grade are outside playing. While they’re playing, 4th grade- 8th grade is eating lunch, and the 2nd half it’s the opposite. Another thing that happens is that some of the lunch club takes sessions so they can take session first or second half. During lunch you can pack lunch, buy lunch, or go home for lunch. On Wednesdays, you can bring in one dollar to buy icecream. If there is an inclement weather day, then 2nd- 8th grade are in the cafeteria while Kindergarten and 1st grade are in the Library. If you are in the gym you are there the whole 2 halves. On the other hand, if you are in the library you eat lunch there and then you go into one of the two kindergarten classrooms and watch a movie. That basically sums up everything that happens at lunch Now that you’ve eaten lunch you have the afternoon schedule. You have 3 periods before you leave to go home. First, you have Social Studies with Mrs. Frey. In Social Studies, we are learning about Ancient Civilizations and doing Culture Projects. Culture Project is when you and 23 other people get in a group and make either a planet or a country. Second, either you’ll have Language with Mrs. Kirschner on Mondays and Wednesdays, Art with Mrs. Morris on Tuesdays, or P.E. with Mrs. Petrozza. In Language we are learning grammar and doing many projects. Lastly, you’ll have Language Focus on Mondays (which is when you go on Moby Max and click Language; same with Math Focus), Math Focus on Wednesday, and Language with Mrs. Kirschner on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. At dismissal you pack up and go home. Now that you know our 6th grade schedule you can go to classes and start learning. Going to your classes gets easier when you remember what your schedule is. You might have to get help every now and then, but you won’t after a while. Unicorn Island Part 2!
