The Financing of Water in 2019: A Discussion by the
Three Ratings Agencies

This session will be a moderated discussion with senior
executives of the three ratings agencies on what they are
seeing in 2019 when it comes to public and private financing
practices being utilized by both municipal and investor-owned
water utilities. Discussion will include the current and evolving
trends in public and private financing options, the expansion of
WIFIA and the greater opportunities to combine both public and
private financing opportunities to meet water utility financing
needs, and some of the operational/management areas of
water utility operations (i.e., asset management, cybersecurity,
deferred maintenance obligations, etc.) that ratings agencies are
increasingly focused on.
