Black award winner After more than 40 years, disinfection byproducts continue to challenge water utilities. First, there’s the nagging awareness that most DBPs are still unknown. Then there is our uncertainty about which of the known DBPs are most toxic. Compound this with long-term watershed changes and increasing demands on water systems and you quickly find yourself in uncharted territory.
