SPECIAL EVENTS PUBLIC OFFICIALS TRAINING It is critical that public officials understand utility operations and finance to help them make informed decisions. ACE19 offers a robust program for new and returning public official attendees. This program is designed to help mayors, water and wastewater board commissioners, and council members better understand key water issues and take smart steps to address them. The program includes a networking event along with three specialized courses covering the basics of water treatment and distribution, governance, and finance/asset management. Courses may be taken separately or together, depending on which topics are most relevant to you. If all three courses are completed, AWWA will award a Certificate of Completion. You must register to attend ACE19 to participate in the public officials’ events and training. CRT1: INTRODUCTION TO WATER AND SEWER OPERATING ENVIRONMENTS CRT4: ALL THREE COURSES Pre-registration is required  Sunday, June 9 | 1:00–5:00 p.m. Room: 610/612 Individual Course: $95 Members/$195 Nonmembers Officials completing this class will acquire an ability to confidently discuss the workings of water and sewer systems, including a basic understanding of the regulatory environment. CRT2: WATER AND SEWER INFRASTRUCTURE, OPERATIONS, AND MAINTENANCE Pre-registration is required Combined Courses: $285 Members/$585 Nonmembers AWWA will award a Certificate of Completion after completing all three courses. CRT3: UNDERSTAND SYSTEM METRICS TO REDUCE RISK AND IMPROVE FINANCIAL DECISION-MAKING Pre-registration is required  Tuesday, June 11 | 1:00–5:00 p.m. Room: 610/612 Individual Course: $95 Members/$195 Nonmembers This course focuses on determining a utility’s sustainability with respect to infrastructure, finances, and people.
