‘ ENTERPRISING’ WAYS TO IMPROVE PRODUCTIVITY

Over two-thirds( 68 %) of manufacturers were said this year to be focusing on improving productivity as a strategy to offset rising input costs, with many looking to technology, cloud and AI as key enablers. But increasing productivity without increasing costs can seem an impossible challenge although smart technology and automation are offering solutions.
Robotics and automation are fast replacing repetitive, manual processes like picking, shipping and data entry in environments such as warehouses. But they rely on information from pallets or carton labels to make decisions about what actions are needed. The label must provide this information in a manner that is readily interpreted by automated systems.
Barcodes and RFID are two automatic identification and data capture( AIDC) technologies that have gained universal acceptable and become ubiquitous because of their ability to provide fast information transfer.
But regardless of the technology, a mislabeled barcode or RFID tag, or label that cannot be read negates the productivity gain of automation. Label quality, and inspection of it, is therefore absolutely critical as automation increases.
RFID print and barcode verification in one
The T6000e from TSC Auto ID is the only enterprise printer on the market offering both real-time online data verification( ODV) technology and RFID capabilities, all in a smart single device.
Why is such versatility important?
If engineers and manufacturers are truly focusing their efforts this year on improving productivity, then the T6000e is ideal for high-volume industrial applications. It can do the work of multiple devices and deliver new heights of productivity and cost savings.
• Available in 4-inch and 6-inch versions, it sets new standards in demanding environments for productivity; it’ s capable of printing 10,000 labels a day.
• RFID is a perfect vehicle to facilitate digital transformation as it provides real-time data on items as they pass throughout the supply chain, enabling organisations to track inventory, optimise logistics and streamline processes. This printer easily handles complex applications, supporting diverse media
