Upon registering for this learning lab , you will be registered for the prerequisite . Description : This lab will provide comprehensive hands-on training in the fundamental skills needed to perform an A-scan examination of the eye . A-scan echo pattern recognition and interpretation will be discussed . Participants will understand the concepts of gain , gates and velocities and how they affect axial length measurements . Students will have an opportunity to perform A-scan evaluations on each other and learn how the A-scan instrument ' thinks ' to better interpret the numbers and echo patterns .
