Care & Support teams
As well as our more traditional role as a housing association , building new affordable homes for people , Accord has around 100 care and support schemes and provides care to thousands of people across the country .
Our care and support teams deliver a wide range of services for adults and children in nursing homes , residential care homes , extra care schemes , supported housing , community settings ( for example , community centres , nurseries and hospitals ) and in people ’ s own homes . Each year they deliver over 3 million hours of care to customers .
This year has really highlighted the fantastic work that our care and support teams provide . Despite the huge challenges of Covid-19 , our teams of frontline carers have been truly outstanding , providing the highest level of care and support to elderly and vulnerable people when they have needed it most .
Homes and People
Homes and people are at the heart of all that we do at Accord . We are committed to the principle that every person has the right to a home ; a place where they can feel safe and secure . This forms the basis of everything we do .
Home means different things to different people . For some it is a place where they can raise their family , safe in the knowledge that they have a lifetime tenancy . For others it is a place where they can live independently , and for some it is a place where they can live in safety and security knowing there is someone there to support them . Accord has a range of supported housing schemes , from assisted living schemes , to specialist centres that have been purpose built to help people live as independently as possible for as long as possible .
As a social housing provider , our teams design , build , manage and maintain affordable homes . Our properties range from one bedroom apartments , to four bedroom family houses : they provide safe , secure homes for individuals and families , from young adults to older people .
The need for affordable housing has never been greater . Accord has committed to building 300 homes each year . We have committed to investing over £ 60m in 600 homes that were under construction over the last 12 months .
