Muhammad Asyrik Ismail
The Faculty of Hotel and Tourism Management UiTM Cawangan Melaka
was saddened by the passing of our beloved lecturer Muhammad Asyrik bin
Ismail at the age of 29 years old. The news of his passing was a shock to all the
members of the UiTM Cawangan Melaka family. He has served with distinction in
the capacity as a lecturer and student’s society advisor. His passion towards
culture has raised the awareness to preserve traditional Malay heritage in the
form of performance arts, visual arts and crafts. Various theater shows during his
tenure as the advisor of the campus cultural heritage club were the talkable
subject of the faculty that most seats were fully booked and tickets sold out. In
the arts and crafts, he has projected his passion by organizing heritage textile
exhibition showcasing vanishing Malay textile arts such as sulam ayak, tekad and
