CANADA
Paul McCartney opens TD Coliseum after $ 300m upgrade
Oak View Group( OVG) opened the doors of its 18,000-capacity TD Coliseum in Hamilton, Ontario, on 21 November, following a $ 300m revamp. The former FirstOntario Centre in Hamilton, which originally opened as Copps Coliseum in 1985, is located just outside Toronto. It reopened with a show by Paul McCartney. OVG said the city-owned venue now has a new rigging grid with more than 250,000 pounds of loading capacity, new seating throughout and upgraded acoustic panelling. Other new features include a dedicated artist compound including five dressing rooms, a private lounge, catering space and direct stage access.

CTS Eventim reports surprisingly strong Q3
Bremen-based, pan-European, ticketing agent, promoter and venue operator CTS Eventim saw its shares rise 10 % in value on the back of a better-thanexpected earnings report for the third quarter. The company, which acquired See Tickets along with Vivendi’ s festival division in a deal valued at € 300 million(£ 255m) last year, reported a 3.5 % rise in revenue to € 854.2m. Adjusted EBITDA was up 13.8 % to € 137.3m, lifting adjusted margin to 16.1 % from 14.6 % last year. CTS’ report shows its surprisingly strong financial Q3 performance was driven almost entirely by its live entertainment arm, with that segment’ s revenue up 5.5 % to € 663m and adjusted EBITDA at € 46.3m up 27 %. Its ticketing division saw revenue of € 211m, up 2.1 % on the same quarter last year.
PORTUGAL
TMG to launch Rhythm + Waves festival in Portgual
The Malachite Group( TMG) is poised to launched new festival Rhythm + Waves in the Algarve, Portugal. The festival, scheduled for 27-28 June 2026, will be located on Praia da Rocha Beach, Portimão; the same site as TMG’ s Afro Nation Portugal. TMG, a division of private investment firm Helios Sports & Entertainment, focuses on discovering, developing and promoting African talent. The London headquartered company is best known for its Afro Nation series of events. The music offering at Rhythm + Waves will be centred around rap and electronic music with confirmed acts including Gunna, Chase & Status and Sherelle.
