Andrew Bruce, Quantum
Creative
Andrew Bruce has acheived much at a young
age.Quantum Creative was founded in 2016 as a
design partnership between himself, Joe Lott and
Matthew Kemp after the three studied together
on the Creative Lighting Control course at Rose
Bruford College.
Quantum Creative offers production design
services including lighting and video design,
digital media content creation, visualisations
and creative technical solutions for events and
projects. It provides production design services for
a wide range of clients and events, from large scale
music tours to theatrical productions, immersive
experiences, bespoke live events and live TV
broadcasts.
The bond and collaboration between the team
it touted as key to the success of the company’s
projects. the trio can provide a complete creative
solution to any project, working from concept and
pre-visualisation through to the implementation,
programming and final delivery.
Ash Cook, The MJR Group Leon Dickens, PRG
Cook was nominated for his pioneering digital
practice in marketing shows to a variety of
audiences.
These includes sold-out shows at the O2 Arena,
in multiple theatres and venues throughout the
world.
He is driving change in traditional practices for
marketing in the music industry in a big way.
In five years time, Cook says that he hopes he
will be leading a world wide team of marketeers
on shows across the world.
We wouldn’t bet against him. During my time as an event services
technician at PRG I have designed,
built and configured systems for an
array of live shows that have incorporated media
servers, switchers and various video sources to
achieve a seamless video playback experience.
Notably I worked alongside the touring crew to
calibrate the projection and program artnet system
control for the Sam Smith’s The Thrill of it All tour
using Catalyst, a show which has travelled across
multiple continents with critical acclaim.
More recently, I configured the media server
system and provided catalyst training for the
Die Antwoord tour. As well as programming
FOH control positions for over six separate stages
throughout Creamfields Festival 2018, which
included the award winning Steelyard arena of
this year.
Other worthwhile mentions, All Points East
Festival 2018, where I managed the FOH video
management for the North stage; Capital’s
Global Awards ceremony in which I installed
return monitoring throughout the show; MTV
Viacom rap competition live stream via YouTube
where I operated video & audio playback and the
installation of a bespoke LED voting system for a
upcoming TV show.
In five years time I will, hopefully, be managing
the video department on-site throughout some
of the aforementioned events , while utilising
my specialist knowledge of media servers and
video switching to programme and operate larger
shows.
