Live Music Industry Venues and Entertainment( LIVE) will work hand-in-hand with its 15 members and Access All Areas to curate a conference stage at the Event Production Show on 3-4 March. Here LIVE CEO Jon Collins outlines the key issues the organisation is working on and what is likely to be explored on the inaugural LIVE Lounge stage.

Since its launch at the start of 2020, LIVE has helped get the collective voice of the live music industry heard at a government level on issues ranging from secondary ticketing to VAT relief for festivals, Martyn’ s Law to post-Brexit EU touring complexities. It has also been instrumental in the formation of the LIVE Trust; perhaps the most significant initiative yet to support the entire grassroots live music ecosystem.

As a result of the £ 1 per ticket levy, you have already distributed £ 500,000 from the LIVE Trust to beneficiaries including venues and festivals. What’ s the next step?
As we speak, next week there ' ll be more than one million people at shows supporting the trust. June is a blockbuster month because you ' ve got Harry Styles, Foo Fighters, Olivia Dean, Take That, Lily Allen; there ' s a whole raft of shows involved. That illustrates the momentum. More than 342 shows have been involved in the LIVE Trust since its inception.
We ' ve been delighted with the reaction to the £ 500,000 that we distributed in February. That supported a plethora of work including the newly established UK Artist Touring Fund, and a festival programme run by the AIF that has supported 81 festivals with a capacity under 2,000.
