Kid Rock’ s Rock The Country shows cancelled

The Rock The Country touring festival, fronted by Kid Rock, has cancelled its South Carolina shows after a series of artists, including Shinedown, pulled out of the events scheduled for 25-26 July. Rock has been the subject of controversy after he headlined the All-American Halftime Show that was livestreamed at the same time as Bad Bunny’ s Super Bowl halftime show on 8 February. The All-American Halftime Show was organised by the rightwing group Turning Point USA.

Ticketmaster threatened with BTS sales fine

Profeco, Mexico’ s consumer protection agency, has threatened Ticketmaster with a 5 million Mexican peso(£ 212,300) fine following complaints about ticket sales practices for BTS concerts at Mexico City’ s Estadio GNP Seguros in May. The proposed fine for alleged violations of Mexican consumer protection law was announced by Profeco boss Iván Escalante Ruiz during a press conference involving Mexican president Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo. Meanwhile, Ruiz said‘ electronic appeals’ have been issued to resale platforms Viagogo, StubHub, and Helloticket, calling on them to respect consumer protection regulations.

Last Tour Group names new CEO

Yurdana Burgoa has been named CEO of Last Tour Group, Spain’ s largest independent promoter. The promotion is part of a restructuring of the business including wider changes to the company’ s leadership. Alfonso Santiago, founder and principal shareholder of Last Tour Group, is moving into the role of president. Headquartered in Bilbao, with offices in Madrid, Barcelona, Zaragoza, Pamplona, Lisbon and Bogotá, Last Tour employs more than 120 people and is set to open a new office in Mexico this year. It promotes around 500 concerts per year, and oversees festivals including Bilbao BBK Live, Azkena Rock Festival, Meo Kalorama and Pirineos Sur. Last Tour said that the restructuring of its senior management team positions the organisation in an‘‘ ideal scenario to successfully address future challenges.”
