The Burning Man Festival has grown dramatically in both attendance and scale, since it was first staged at Nevada ' s Black Rock Desert in 1990, to become one of the world’ s most distinct and logistically challenging festivals.

A 73,000-capacity, week-long, event with ticket prices starting at $ 675, Burning Man Festival is run by the non-profit Burning Man Project. It is led by CEO Marian Goodell; who oversees logistics, planning, and year-round operations, including the creation of the temporary Black Rock City in the desert that hosts the festival.
Organisers emphasise that despite the hefty admission charge, there is no main stage, no vending and no corporate sponsorship:“ You must bring everything with you that you will need to survive and thrive, and take everything that remains when you go.”
Creating, or even just attending, a festival in a dessert is no mean feat, but among the key companies that will be working hard to enable the smooth running of Burning Man Festival this year will be Eventree.
Part of Citizen Ticket Group, Eventree is a festival accreditation platform that helps festivals manage accreditations, access permissions and event workforces. For the Edinburgh-based operation, securing the Burning Man job is a big win.
“ Winning Burning Man is a huge moment for our team,” says Citizen Ticket Group & Eventree CCO Philip Shaw Stewart.“ Based in one of the most stunning and logistically challenging locations in the world, Burning Man is operationally demanding, and our appointment shows how seriously organisers are taking accreditation and workforce management. Our focus is always on helping event teams run smoother events with more control on-site, and we’ re excited to bring that to North America this year.”
