its kind festival, from the outset the partners
got the idea and they all cross-referred more
people to join in. James identified a couple
of entrepreneurs who had success building
similar businesses and contacted them
through Linkedin. This was with a view
to raising a crowdfund by leveraging their
credentials to bolster ours but in fact we
didn’t get that far. James and John met with
Will Ramsay, the founder of The Affordable
Art Fair and after a short meeting, Will
indicated that with the right prospectus he
would consider investing himself.”
Organisers called into action a select team
of suppliers to make MAKEMORE come
together.
Guerlin says: “AP Security were called
in. They bring unrivalled experience with
the venue and audience demographic
and regarded by the local authorities and
agencies as a safe pair of hands when
planning a first-year proposition. Meanwhile,
Free Love Group provided attention to detail
and imaginative AV/staging solutions given
the restrictions on a Y1 budget.”
“Inglewood Power provided great service
levels, Chris and his team always go above
and beyond the brief in terms of delivery
of specification. BSW Marquees were a real
find for us, this supplier has a great portfolio
of traditional tents required for our varied
range of activities and have been very
adaptable to our ever-growing specification!
He added that the Tower Hamlets Council
Arts, Parks & Events team as land-owners of
Victoria Park were extremely helpful. “They
helped facilitate a smooth engagement
process with the responsible authorities
and various agencies and helping us develop
a bespoke set of plans of how we can
minimise the impact of the event on its local
environment.
