Boomtown Fair organisers to open ‘ amazement park ’

Organisers of Boomtown Fair ( cap . 66,000 ) have launched a crowdfunding campaign to finance the creation of an immersive art experience that is expected to open at the team ’ s Bristol headquarters this summer .
Boomtown Fair site and operations manager Graham MacVoy and the festival ’ s co-founders and directors Lak Mitchell and Chris Rutherford set up the company Wake The Tiger Ltd in March last year to handle what they intend to be a new tourist attraction .

said the interactive show will involve a one-hour tour of 27 artistic environments , and it is designed to be suitable for visitors of all ages .
They said more than £ 1.5m of seed investment has already been secured from private investors , and the team is preparing to launching a Crowdcube fundraiser to secure an additional £ 350,000 in April .
It is expected that some 75 % of the project ’ s revenue will come via ticket sales , while secondary revenue sources will include food and beverage sales and a merchandise range including sculptures , prints and NFTs .
Live Nation Entertainmentowned ticketed live stream platform Veeps has launched a suite of apps to make its shows directly accessible on smart TVs .
Veeps has created apps for Apple TV , Roku , iOS , and Android , enabling concerts to be screened on TVs without the need to cast from a mobile device , screen share or use cables . Concerts are available on a pay-perview basis directly from the apps .
It has also announced a series of new streamed shows including Kings Of Leon ’ s sold out date at The O2 arena on 2 July .
Launched in 2017 by artists Joel and Benji
Madden of the band Good Charlotte , Veeps was acquired by Live Nation in January last year .
Madden said , “ We think that the future of concert streaming is fans in all corners of the globe having access to every tour , and getting concert streams natively into TVs and phones is a gamechanger for artists and their fans .”

ASM Global debuts facial recognition ticketing tech

International venue management giant ASM Global said it will roll out facial verification technology at Pechanga Arena ( cap . 16,100 ) in San Diego , California .
Powered by software company PopID , part of Cali Group , the technology will allow fans to verify payments and authenticate tickets with facial recognition at terminals throughout the venue . ASM Global said the technology , which was first used on 20 April at an American Hockey League game , will allow it to create “ frictionless experiences ” at venues .
It said the technology will also be rolled out to other ASM Global venues , including Save Mart Center in Fresno , California ( 16,182 ), Coca-Cola Arena ( 17,000 ) in Dubai and Toyota Arena ( 11,089 ) in Ontario , Canada .
ASM Global CEO and president Ron Bension said , “ The deployment of this technology in our venues represents the beginning of a revolutionary change in the entertainment world .
“ The PopID platform will allow us to eliminate the dependence on cards and phones at our events and ensure that every guest interaction is secure , speedy and seamless .”
