Egg LDN’s founder talks nightlife,
and the secret behind one of
London’s top clubs
Currently nightlife in London is
booming and competition is tough. Due
to Brexit fears, a lot of building projects
have been stalled so empty spaces are
being taken over by events companies
who run small to large scale size events.
The market place now is unrecognisable
to what was a few years back when event
spaces and parties were diminishing at
an alarming rate.
It has been very hard for us to book
the bigger acts due to spending power and has meant we have had
to think outside the box with a focus on themed parties like Berlin
Berlin.
As a result, Egg is now known for discovering and developing new
talent and we pride ourselves on this
In order to create a more thriving music and clubbing scene in the
UK there needs to be a more level playing field for clubs and events. In
places like Amsterdam and Berlin, the conditions on licenses are very
much the same for dance music venues however in London, it differs
from venue to venue and makes it a lot harder for some to operate.
The threats to the current clubbing scene are the extortionate
prices charged by many DJs these days. Door and bar prices are
rising to accommodate these hikes so clubbing is slowing becoming
unaffordable for a lot of dance music countrywide.

We, at Egg, see our customers as part
of a family so we pride ourselves on
that personal touch. This sets us apart
from many who have a cold approach to
clubbing.
The sound needs to be on point, and
that’s why we have the best sound in
every room. Our main room sound and
lighting system is upgraded constantly.
We research constantly to keep ahead.
We have never been big on corporate
events as the venue was designed for the optimum clubbing
experience, rather than the corporate experience but we have hosted
the DJ Mag Best of British Awards for many years which is one of the
many highlights of our December booking agenda
2018 was a huge year for us and looking on to the next chapter.
Having celebrated our milestone birthday of 15 years last May, 2019
marks a new beginning. ✰
We have welcomed the likes of Pete Tong, Charlotte De Witte, Fatboy
Slim, Radio Slave, Monika Kruse, FJAAK, Perc, Regal, Pariah, Omar-S,
East Everything, Rebekah and labels Spearhead, Viper, Phonica and
many more were welcomed through our doors.
Over the next twelve months, we have a whole new agenda of hugely
talented artists ready to play throughout the club, not forgetting
the ongoing schedule of one of London’s most eccentric hard techno
nights, Berlin Berlin.
