It has been a year since ES Global attracted its private equity partners , Flywheel Partners , into the business . Burke says since then the company has gone from strength to strength and has some exciting projects and developments in the future to look out for : “ We are now employing more people permanently rather than in a freelance or agency situation . This offers increased security , better training and working conditions .”

Demanding times Arena ’ s structures division in the UK will be supplying more than 50 clients this year , including some of the most prestigious sporting events in the country . Following its work on the Royal Windsor Horse Show and the first of the Queen ’ s Platinum Jubilee official events , it will be supporting the Chelsea Flower Show this summer , as well as the R & A ’ s The Open Championship in its 150th anniversary year at St Andrews .
The company is also delivering significant infrastructure to the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham , the AELTC for Wimbledon , as well as The Jockey Club at racecourses throughout the year , including Cheltenham , Aintree , Epsom and Ascot .
Arena Group structures division MD Ross Robertson says 2022 is proving to be a particularly busy and demanding year : “ We ’ ve had to be diligent in supporting our clients with many extended projects , without over-committing to the point we compromise our highquality standards .”
Recruitment drive Mirroring the economic pressures felt globally , Robertson says Arena is constantly facing budgetary pressures from many directions , but the company is making strong progress and has made a series of key staff appointments .
The commercial director at Field & Lawn prior to joining Arena in December last year , Robertson says the company has made some strong additions to the team : “ We have added a mix of excellent project managers and co-ordinators , while also bringing youth into training programmes to create the next generation of structures professionals .”

Robertson explains the move : “ This is great scheme which reaches out to local communities to create opportunities for young people who may not normally be aware of the career pathway available in the events sector . This includes young people in care or those struggling with education and who may prefer a career outdoors working in a team . We have recently had an open day which was well attended .”
The company recently employed a new project manager , Kevin Irons , who is focused on its non-event business and the commercial and industrial structures . Along with
