JUNE | TECH Tech @ Confex North Confex North: new name, new ideas A year after launching as Confex Future Focus, the re-named Confex North is back with a vengeance to give event professionals in the north a forum to learn, meet and discover What’s on The Corporate Event Planners Forum in partnership with the Event Marketing Words: James Morgan, founder, Event Tech Lab Confex North, an expansion of International Confex, will be host to an array of interactive event technology companies and education in Manchester next month. Tech trends will be the topic over the two-day show that welcomes thousands of visitors from the midlands, north England and Scotland. Adam Parry, co-founder of the world’s only dedicated event technology exhibition – Event Tech Live in London each November – will be on the innovation stage during the show. His education sessions promise to be both enlightening as well as provide ways for event organisers to create better attendee engagement. He will also be offering brands and agencies insights into the use of event technology for brand activations and launches. Event ‘Tech Trends for Brands’ is a session that will look at how much brands spent on technology in 2018, what they will spend in 2019 as well as explain the 5 biggest technology trends and the 5 fastest adopted technologies plus other buying and usage trends in this fast paced area. Confex North will return to Manchester’s Victoria Warehouse on 3 – 4 July for the second edition of the show. Association (EMA) is a free-to-attend education programme on day 1, (3 July) specifically designed for and delivered by in-house corporate event planners comprised of panel debate and presentations covering a range of topics from CSR, employee engagement and stakeholder management to gamification and well-being.
