Help during Covid When Covid began , a large part of the industry just stopped . But clients still had their kit and therefore needed insurance , despite little or no income coming in . We worked with our insurance panel to get premiums reduced , in many cases substantially , to help our clients through a difficult period .
Terms and conditions Unlike other industries ( contractors , plant , road haulage etc ), there are no standard T & Cs within the industry . I provided a seminar on this subject at The Event Production Show in 2021 providing tips and advice to companies both hiring in and hiring out . We continue to provide advice to any of our clients to improve their conditions , or if they wish to review terms provided to them by a hiring company .

Why did you become an insurance broker ? When I was about 13 or 14 my mother was a typist in a brokers . They wanted someone to do the filing , so I went in after school to earn some money . It later became a Saturday job giving quotes to clients and , as I enjoyed it , I went to work for an insurance company when I left school .
What are your favourite hobbies ? My wife introduced me to yoga many years ago , and I really feel the benefits from that . I ’ ve been doing ballroom dancing for 30 years but still wouldn ’ t get past the first week on Strictly ! I enjoy watching rugby , football and cricket ( Saracens , Spurs and Middlesex )
What is your favourite tipple ? I ’ ve always been a real ale man and still have the first ever edition of CAMRA ’ s

Good Beer Guide – including my comments of the quality of the pubs I visited and the beer they served . I now also enjoy a good craft ale .
Favourite concert ? I ’ ve seen Fleetwood Mac twice who are brilliant . But my favourite would be in 1979 when I saw The Who , supported by The Pretenders , and introducing a new group – The Specials , at Hammersmith Odeon .
At home what will you mostly be watching ? I ’ ve just finished on Netflix the fourh series of This is Us . About to start the fifth one .
Favourite Takeaway ? Probably Thai . Although always enjoy a good Indian – or Chinese . And who can refuse fish and chips .
