MOVING VENUE

MOVING VENUE ‘ REBELLIOUS BY NATURE ’ AT 40

Highly respected event caterer Moving Venue celebrated its 40th anniversary in grand style with a lavish banquet coupled with live performances at the Natural History Museum earlier this month

Moving Venue was the first caterer to deliver an event at Natural History Museum , some 38 years ago , so it was only fitting its 40th birthday party should be held there . Its early events at the museum included catering for Micheal Jackson and 400 guests for his Bad Tour London party , during which the Band of the Royal Marines played Bad while walking down the stairs in Hintze Hall .

There have been countless landmark events since , from the opening of the Channel Tunnel to catering for 16,000 covers over the weekend at the British Grand Prix . Among the caterer ’ s 40 accredited venues are Tower of London , Roundhouse , St Paul ’ s Cathedral , the Victoria and Albert Museum , British Museum , Hampton Court Palace , Freemasons ’ Hall and Somerset House .
Speaking at the anniversary party , Moving Venue MD Chloe Jackson said , “ The combined experience of the team means that they are just as comfortable delivering an intimate dinner for 10 at the Tower of London as we did last Friday , as they are masterminding the full museum take overs for thousands of guests here at the Natural History Museum .”
The ‘ rebellious by nature ’ themed 40th anniversary celebration at the museum was staged in partnership with headline sponsors Lavender Green , Wise and Sternberg Clarke . Moving Venue hosted 250 guests including venue partners , corporate clients , event agencies and press . The event featured a lineup of performances , speeches , and culinary delights , designed to showcase Moving Venue ’ s diverse offering and celebrate its vision for the future .
Jackson says that the ‘ rebellious by nature ’ theme not only reflected Moving Venue ’ s history of pushing boundaries , but also honoured the Natural History Museum ’ s celebration of the natural world .
The theme was brought to life through a series of immersive experiences , including a dramatic floral installation and a menu that celebrated sustainability and innovative flavours . Prior to dinner , the guests were guided through a 40 Years of Moving Venue exhibition , featuring notable items such as menus from the Microsoft Windows launch party and the Rolling Stone Awards , as well as a letter from the deputy private secretary to Queen Elizabeth II , thanking Moving Venue for its role in the launch of HS1 .
“ This celebration is a reflection of our journey over the past 40 years – a journey marked by innovation , creativity , and a passion for challenging the status quo ,” says Jackson .
“ We continue to invest heavily in both our product and in our team . Where we have led the way before , we will continue to reach for the next challenge , testing boundaries , and continue to focus on exceeding client expectations and delivering time and time again .
“ We announced earlier this year the launch of the Moving Venue Academy which kicks off this Autumn as we set out to train and develop our venue partners in the dark art of catering , which is just one of our ways of giving back to the industry and we were delighted to have our mentees with us at our 40th anniversary celebration .”
