Dawn Hindle, founder, Ibiza Rocks
Founder of the infamous Ibiza Rocks and
Ibiza Rocks House at Pike, Hindle first got a
taste for Ibiza in 1994 while she was a qualified
architect. From EDM sets to literary festivals,
Hindle has carved out her very own cultural
epicentre in the heart of Ibiza.
Nuria Tarre, chief marketing officer, City
Football Group
Responsible for maintaining and elevating
the profiles of Manchester City FC, New York
City FC and Melbourne City FC, Tarre joined
City Football Group in 2015 and has since been
strengthening fan bases on a global scale. Raelene Castle, chief executive, Rugby
Australia
Castle made history as the first women in
charge of a major Australian football code.
Before earning this role, she was also the first
female CEO of a National Rugby League club,
the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs. She is
a powerful advocate of women’s rights and
stands by the notion that “female athletes
need to start the conversation, not be a second
thought”.
Rachel Roxburgh, CEO, Dallaglio
RugbyWorks
Roxburgh oversees the organisation’s
mission of “supporting an intensive, long-
term skills development programme based on
rugby, through which we aim to get teenagers
outside of mainstream education into
sustained education, employment or training”.
She joined Dallaglio RugbyWorks in 2011 and
strives to promote parity across the board. Susan Heymann, managing director, Chugg
Entertainment
Heymann is one of a handful of women
who work in an executive role in music in
Australia, and says, “There are lots of women
in music, but there aren’t enough women at
the top.” Heymann was listed number 18 in
The Australian Music Industry Directory’s 50
Most Influential Music Industry Players 2016
list.
Our ‘people’ industry
Deborah Armstrong, founder of
event design company Strong
& Co, praises events for the
industry
I want to give a shout out to
those companies that organise
events, but aren’t event agencies.
I was very impressed by the
recent work by Access’ publisher
Mash Media at the Event
Production Show and the Event
Production Awards, so I thought
I’d use my column to give a
big shout to Tom Hall, Duncan
Siegle and the whole Mash team
who unite to make these events
special. They’re doing these
events for the love of the event
organisers, while at the same
time actually doing their own
events too.
They see what we do first-
hand as organisers, and use their
influence as a media company to
bring together the people who
put on events.
At these events I realise
how rare it is for people in our
industry to actually meet up in
person and celebrate and analyse
what we do. This is a ‘people
industry’, and you wouldn’t be in
events if you didn’t enjoy getting
together with people. Long may
this continue.
