“The Boys Next Door” is a benefit performance to
support Theatre Exceptional, an organization that uses
the performing arts to raise awareness, erase stigma,
provide education and performance opportunities for
adults with disabilities. Through professional productions performed annually with a blended cast of abled
and disabled actors, it produces works that highlight all
different forms of disability. This Tom Griffin classic drama/comedy is a story that revolves around the lives of
four mentally disabled men who share a home, where
“little things” become momentous, with moments of humor and poignancy. With touching effectiveness, “the
boys” remind us that those with mental and physical
disabilities like the rest of us, want only to love, laugh
and find meaning and purpose in their lives.
