Now Tampa Bay audiences will be treated to Ethan Coen’s first foray as a playwright, Almost an Evening, which played an extended sold-out engagement Off-Broadway in 2008-2009. The overall theme of these three satiric shorts by Oscar-winning screenwriter Ethan Coen, who is responsible for some of the most critically acclaimed pieces of popular culture of our time, is hell – both on earth and in the hereafter. The cast features Jordan Foote, Matthew Frankel, Melissa Granke, Landon Green, Jonelle Meyer, Spencer Meyers, Owen Robertson, and Molly Schoolmeester. Christopher Titus, Born with a Defect at Ferguson Hall - Sept 12 Known as one of the best comics working today, Christopher Titus brings his all-new show to the Fer- guson Hall. In “Born With a Defect,” his 7th 90-minute special, Titus takes the audience on a wild ride through his personal life, and proves why he isn’t qualified to be a father, and why childless couples win. Titus currently has six 90-minute specials running on Comedy Central, and is known for his television show, “Titus,” as welll as the host of History Channel’s “Pawnography.” Martin Lawrence - Live Doin’ Time at Carol Morsani Hall - Sept 12 Lawrence performed as a stand-up comedian for a number of years before getting his big break as the host of HBO’s Def Comedy Jam. He then moved into film acting, appearing in hit movies such as Bad Boys and Big Momma’s House. In 1992, Lawrence launched his own sitcom for Fox, Martin. After Martin ended its run in 1997, Lawrence found ample work in comedy films. He often starred as the second lead opposite actors including Eddie Murphy, Danny DeVito, and Tim Robbins. Many of his films were blockbusters at the box office, including Nothing to Lose, Life, and Blue Streak. One Man Breaking Bad – The Unauthorized Parody at Jaeb Theater - Sept 19 With more than a million hits on YouTube, and sellout runs at comedy festivals in Melbourne and Edinburgh, LA actor Miles Allen smacks the senses with his super-charged, hilariously accurate renditions of all the iconic characters, including Walter White, Jesse, Saul, Skyler, Hank, Walt Junior, Mike and Gus Fring.
