CO-DESIGN INSIGHT & ARTIFACTS
We drew and write together and the future journey was slowly developed with the
participation of all people. Craftventure is not selling an isolated service. Craftventure’s
product is the journey of experience collaboratively cultivated by the artisan and the
travelers so each journey is without doubt a different experience. In order to improve
Craftventure’s experience design, the following insights derived from various co-design
sessions are crucial:
• Program design: Artisan has their own story to tell but some of them don’t know
how to mange to do it within travelers’ limited time. While Craftventure develops
program, we shall design the narrative structure for artisans as guideline instead of
steps to follow, and artisan/participants shall develop the story on their own.
• Environment ambience: the difference of a factory and an artisan workshop is
obvious. Some of the artisan’s physical place requires certain rearrangement based on
how they live the day-to-day objects to bring the ambience up front.
• Intimacy with artisan: artisans are human beings. Despite of how much passion
they have for what they do, they need space and time for their own dedication (or
rest.) While Craftventure takes advantage of creating exclusive experience for users
and artisans, it’s important to design “empty space” in the program for both.
• Diversity of experience: living the maker’s experience doesn’t mean staying in
the indoor workshop all day long.
• Logistics assistance: Some of the artisan workshop are located in suburban with
poor traffic connection and some with limited accommodation options. Craftventure
will need to collaborate with other partners to resolve this issue for selected artisans.
