ACAMS Today Español Digital met with Heiromy Castro Milanés , general director of Compliance , and Marbel Guilamo Peña , Ethical Compliance , Anti-Bribery and Anti-Corruption division manager at Banco de Reservas ( Banreservas ), to discuss the recent recognition awarded to their institution for their compliance policies and processes to prevent , detect and mitigate the risk of bribery and corruption .
Heiromy Castro Milanés is the general director of Compliance of Banreservas in the Dominican Republic . An economist with a master ’ s degree in business administration and in financial administration and strategic planning , Castro Milanés is certified in risk management for the prevention of money laundering and financing of terrorism . He has more than 30 years of experience in the financial and banking supervision sector .
Marbel Guilamo Peña has 20 years of experience in banking . His work has contributed significantly to the areas of banking regulation , compliance operations , corporate governance , ethical processes and process management , among others . He currently serves as manager of the Ethical Compliance , Anti-Bribery and Anti-Corruption Division at Banreservas . Guilamo Peña is also a member of the Compliance Committee for CoopReservas and the Editorial Committee for ACAMS Today Español Digital . He is known for his work in training executives and employees of Banreservas on banking regulation , The Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act ( FATCA ) and the prevention of asset laundering .
