“But I knew with this group of girls, we were going to do anything it took to win. For the last 18 months we’ve bonded and worked hard as team, so to finally win gold, was amazing.”

While the country revelled in the Diamonds’ glory, for Robinson, it was a relief that finally it happened for her.

“The fact that I didn’t make it in 2010, four years to try and have a crack at it again.”

“I’m a big believer that things happen for a reason. I believe I didn’t make it in 2010 and 2011 because this was waiting for me here."

"I was challenged to become the player and person I am today and I’m extremely proud

and grateful for that."

If what Robinson says is true, that in fact things happen for a reason, then her life has gone swimmingly.
