MADISON ROBINSON

“I have passion for education for kids, being a primary school teacher.”

Alongside advising people about how to eat healthy, Madison hosts specialist netball clinics across the state.

“This year Bianca Chatfield, Cath Cox and myself hit the road a few times offering specialist clinics. Road tripping with your teammates is extremely fun.

“We would have twenty centre

courters, twenty defenders and twenty shooters, and take them through an elite training session with focus on their key positions.”

It’s not something that happens often, but it’s something that she loves to do. Teaching is in her blood and while she loves the athlete life, beyond the court, she knows where’s she’ll be heading.

“When I finish netball, I would love to go to the side of the education of either food or healthy lifestyle.”

“That’s where I’d like to see myself heading when I finish netball. It’s not just about sport, it’s about the whole person and being who your want to be.”

“Lots of the things I have learnt along my career so far don’t just translate onto the court, but to life as well.”

But that’s for the future, for now, there’s just a few little things she has on her plate.

“It's easy to find too. Jump on Google and type in Madi Robinson and you'll get a link to madirobinson.com."

Foodie. Teacher. Educator.

“As much as I thought I knew everything when I was 19, I really didn’t. So that’s when I started experimenting and being in Perth was helpful.”

It was during Robinson’s time out west that the “foodie” in her started to quietly emerge. Surrounded by the beautiful weather, the beach and the markets, her passion for organic and healthy food came to the fore. The results were evident when she returned to Melbourne, after three years with the Fever.

“Everyone was like, "what have you done? You’ve got so much energy, you’re vibrant, your skin’s amazing, you've lost all this weight, it’s the fittest you’ve ever been.”

“That’s when I started telling everyone how simple it was, it was about my food and lifestyle choices. All these questions from family, teammates and friends came out about some of the weird drinks and meals I swore by and what about this and that."

“It started to happen so often, I thought I would just have to start something and put it all out there.”

And it’s easy to find too. Jump on Google and type in Madi Robinson food and you’ll get a link to madirobinson.com, the netball star’s own food blog.

Although, it’s not just a food blog anymore, it’s about Robinson teaching people healthy habits and managing the rigours of elite netball. Because that’s just another side of Robinson, she’s a teacher.

“I love teaching and I’m very passionate about that, but it’s more for the kids though,” says Robinson.
