EDITOR'S LETTER

Welcome sports fans of all codes. I am Andrew Bishara, reporter, social media man and co-editor (alongside the big chief himself a Mr. Graham Dudley) of the Academy League Digital Magazine.

This, as all of you would have gathered, is our first issue and our aim for this deliciously small, yet delightful magazine is to bring you the finest, the most positive and encouraging stories about the world of community sports.

We cover it all. This month, we talk to a footy community legend, who at 52-years-old is still kicking; a soccer All-Star opens up about her experiences; a tennis youngster on the verge of greatness and we look into two of the biggest sporting clubs in Victoria to find out what makes them so successful.

Of course, that’s not all.

We welcome a very special guest (well he actually welcomed us), who was more than willing to talk to us about growing up, partaking in community sports and his little own football academy. It’s Archie Thompson by the way.

You know, the Melbourne Victory legend, former Socceroo and all round nice guy? You have probably heard of him.

He sat down with us to talk about growing up alongside Socceroo

stars, being involved with the community and his beloved ATSOS.

That's the Archie Thompson School of Soccer in case you were

wondering.

So, grab a coffee, a cup of tea or a healthy lunch, sit back and

enjoy.

We gladly welcome you to Academy League.
