The ACES team would like to take a moment and share some amazing news with you . We would first like to welcome all the esteemed students that are newly joining us on this journey . We are glad you joined us this quarter . We have been working on preparing our academic success programs to help you be the best student and professional you can be . A great deal of that starts with the interaction with faculty and staff here on campus . That makes it imperative that we make these introductions so that you are aware of all the resources at your disposal .
Our team has some wonderful news to share , including the introduction of our new Academic Support Professionals , Pie Dyson and Makia Jackson . Pie and Makia are in vital positions for the University , much needed for its continued success . Please join us in welcoming Pie and Makia . Below is a brief introduction of our new Academic Support Professionals .
Pie Dyson
My name is Pie Dyson , and I am a new Academic Support Professional with ACES . I graduated with a bachelor ’ s degree in Linguistics and have a Master of Science in College Counseling and Student Development . Having been a first-generation college student , I am passionate about advocating for underprivileged student groups and strive to empower students to reach their goals . I am excited to start my journey at Life University and partner with ACES to support students in their academic journey .
Makia Jackson
My name is Makia Jackson , and I am also one of the new Academic Support Professionals with ACES . I graduated with a Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies from Georgia State University . I received my master ’ s degree in Higher Education from Georgia Southern University . I have prior experience in higher education as an Academic Advisor from Georgia State University as well . I am excited about being a part of ACES !
