Ivy Compass

The Ivy Compass program is a distinct component in the Crofton House School education. It fosters personal growth, leadership, and engaged citizenship through real-life experiences inside and outside of the classroom. The program is centered around the four cardinal points of a compass. North is New Horizons, South is Service Learning, West is World Citizenship, and East is Environmental Education. Ivy Compass is the school’ s vision come to life where students are able to discover and pursue their personal excellence through a multitude of hands-on educational opportunities. The program exposes students to diverse perspectives and experiences, and explores complex issues around sustainability, service, mental health, leadership, sexual orientation, racial justice, and gender identity, Truth and Reconciliation, equity, diversity, inclusion and more.
Woven throughout this program are experiential activities, such as Outdoor Education. These activities take our students beyond the classroom, providing experiences that enrich learning and engagement in the community. The Ivy Compass program supports students to learn more about themselves, their role in their communities, and their place in the world. The goal of the Ivy Compass Program is to graduate inspired leaders and socially responsible agents of change.
